OVERVIEW

Doom Scrolling reimagines the compulsive habit of endlessly scrolling through feeds. Instead of being stuck in a loop of anxiety-driven, algorithm-curated content, the platform transforms that behavior into an informative, intentional experience.

The website pulls articles from trusted sources like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and other reputable outlets, curating them into a feed that looks and feels like "doom scrolling," but with contextualized, sortable, and categorized content. The idea is to keep the serotonin hit of infinite scroll while reshaping it into a healthier, knowledge-first habit.

Problem

We live in a culture of doom scrolling, the compulsive act of endlessly consuming news and social feeds, often leaving users anxious, misinformed, and fatigued.

News apps and social platforms encourage infinite scrolling but optimize for clickbait and engagement, not clarity or balance.

Users often want to stay informed but get overwhelmed by negativity and repetition.

Challenge

Can we redesign the doom scrolling habit into a healthier, informative, and even enjoyable experience?
